There’s reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving, especially when it comes to the cost of feeding your family and friends. If you're the lucky host or hostess for thanksgiving this year, it won't cost you as much as it did last year.
According to the American Farm Bureau's annual survey, the cost of putting an average Thanksgiving dinner on the table is $49.04, down 44-cents from last year.
Although 44 cents won't help that much, the good news is that overall, food prices have remained mostly stable this year.
The cost is based on a meal for 10 people that includes turkey and all the trimmings.
Experts say the drop this year is due to stable commodity and fuel prices, both strong indicators of prices consumers pay at the store.
