It was Rochester's finest against Rochester's bravest on the court Saturday afternoon.

The city's police and fire departments went head-to-head in the first ever Boots vs. Badges basketball game.

Even though they were playing against each other, the departments were working together to help out a good cause.

"I think the guys are pretty serious. I think anytime you get the police and fire departments together there's a rivalry there, so it's pretty intense,” said Sergeant Justin Collins, Rochester Police Department.

The firefighters came out on top, winning 33 to 30. News10NBC is told the proceeds from Saturday's event will go to the Food Bank of Western New York, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
