Some people trying to fly out of Rochester Wednesday night had a tough time doing so.
Flights headed to a number of cities were cancelled, and there are already some cancellations for Thursday.
News10NBC went to the airport to speak with passengers who spent several hours at the airport.
You can't blame these passengers for being frustrated about this. Remember there were several delays all over the country because of the weather right before Christmas.
Now that the holiday season is officially over, here we are again.
There were eight cancelled flights and seven delays Wednesday, including departures and arrivals.
The situation is definitely not as bad this time around, but we're still talking hundreds of people who were not able to get out of Rochester and many who couldn't make it back home.
The passengers we spoke to were at the airport for hours. They said their airlines informed them they were delayed because of weather conditions.
“The flight is being delayed, delayed, delayed since 2 p.m.,” said Velichka Wright.
"We got here with plenty of time to spare and we get all the way up to gate and they finally tell us the flight is delayed at least an hour right now, probably even more, we have no idea,' said Sarah Kuo.
"I've been doing this for 10 years and this is the first time I've had any difficulties. It's usually pretty easy for me, at least," said Ben Stephens.
Delayed or cancelled flights can be frustrating for just about anyone, but we wanted to share some travel tips with those who may be inconvenienced within the next few days.
First is try to keep a positive attitude. Try not to take it out on airport employees or other passengers.
Next, stay near the airline desk so you can make sure you hear any updates clearly.
Also, keep yourself busy to avoid getting restless or angry. Take a walk and check out restaurants and souvenir shops.
Finally, stay in touch with family members and plan for an overnight stay. In other words, have a plan b ready.
News10NBC checked on flights going in and out of Rochester Wednesday. So far there are around 20 cancellations throughout the day. At this hour, there are no delays, but that may change.
Make sure you are keeping in touch with your airline as much as possible.
