There is new information about the man who was shot by a sheriff's deputy late last month after an attempted carjacking near Pittsford Plaza.
Officials at Strong Memorial Hospital say Vincenzo Zagari has been upgraded from guarded to satisfactory condition.
We're told Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies confronted Zagari outside M&T Bank after police say he shoplifted at Wegmans and tried to car jack a woman.
The sheriff says Zagari tried attacking a female deputy with a hammer, then pointed a pellet gun at her. That's when she fired. The sheriff says that deputy followed all the protocols.
