The president of Monroe Community College has been named to Governor Cuomo’s  Common Core Implementation Panel.

Anne Kress is one of 10 members of the panel, which will undertake an immediate and comprehensive review of the rollout of the Common Core standards in New York State. The panel includes legislators, parents, educators, business and community leaders

In his budget address last month, Governor Cuomo proposed improving the implementation of the Common Core in New York.

Since the Common Core was first instituted in New York, it has been a hot button issue for many parents and teachers.
