A lot of people from all over our area, whether they have children that go to East High School or not, have been waiting to hear about what will happen to the high school.
A decision could be made Tuesday night. In March, the state ordered major changes to East High because it did not meet academic standards. Just last week, the president of the teachers’ union said the school board is looking seriously at the EPO option and he expects the superintendent to ask for an extension, so they can consider other groups besides School Turnaround to take over East High.
The final plan has to be sent to the state by May 15.
