If you work or live in Rochester, there is a project that could have a huge impact on how you get around. A public meeting was held Tuesday to get some of your thoughts about the project at the lodge in Martin Luther King Park.

The final plan calls for filling the Inner Loop between Monroe Avenue and Charlotte Street with dirt and paving it over.

On Tuesday, leaders spoke about the first phase of construction between Broadway and East Main Street.

Jim McIntosh, city engineer, said, “We did squeeze about an 18 month project in about 9 months. It's because a lot of people including the neighborhoods have been on board with this so it's really going to change the face of the city.”

Groundbreaking on the project is scheduled to begin this fall and be finished by 2017.

If you want to voice your opinion, another public meeting is being held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the lodge in Martin Luther King Park.
