Four men are recovering Saturday morning after two separate shootings overnight, according to police.
The first shooting happened just after 1 a.m. at house on Lyell Avenue west of Mount Read Boulevard. Rochester Police say in that shooting someone shot a gun, possibly a shotgun, through a window of a house -- hitting two men inside. The two victims -- both 19-years-old -- were taken by private vehicle to area hospitals. Police say the victims' injuries are believed to be non-life threatening at this time.
According to police, two male suspects were seen running from the scene on foot. The incident is still under investigation, if you have any information on the shooting, please call 911.
The second shooting happened just about an hour later -- this time on Thurston Road near Milton Street. In that incident, police were called to the area for a report of a fight followed by a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting, but no victims at the scene. However, shortly after, two victims -- a 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old man -- arrived at Strong Memorial Hospital by private vehicle.
According to police, the victims said an unknown man fired a gun during the fight and struck the two men. The 24-year-old victim said he was trying to break up the fight, the 30-year-old victim told police he was just walking on the street when he was hit.
That incident is still under investigation, and no suspect is in custody at this time.
