A Rush-Henrietta student is competing for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.

Cady Ruth Stoever will take the stage in Orlando, Florida on July 29-August 2 for a chance to become the next Miss America’s Outstanding Teen and earn thousands of dollars in scholarships.

Stoever won the title of Miss New York’s Outstanding Teen over the Memorial Day weekend. Stoever has promoted her platform, “Growth through Literacy” by donating books to local charities and reading to children. She also raised funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The 15-year-old got her start with the Miss Flower City Organization, the successor to the Miss Greater Rochester pageant.

Stoever will join 52 other young women between the ages of 13 and 17 from across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
