Family and friends are gathering Wednesday to remember 20-year-old Kevin Ward Junior.

Investigators say he got out of his car on the track at Canandaigua Motorsports Park Saturday night and was hit and killed by a car driven by NASCAR champion Tony Stewart.

Today’s services are being held in Booneville, N.Y. His funeral is scheduled for Thursday.

Ward's father tells the Syracuse Post Standard he wants the world to remember his son as a happy person who loved what he did.
