Super Bowl champion Roland Williams says his camp in Rochester is working to teach young men in Rochester to turn away from violence. This comes after an outside group tied to start problems at the camp today.

According to police, a group of older guys camp to Charlotte High school and tried to come into the camp. Police say those men tried to start problems while they were there but officers stopped it before anything got serious.

Williams is a graduate of East High School and Syracuse University. He says this camp is about teaching young men to make good decisions on and off the field and today the campers showed they have learned something by not getting involved. “I think that mental courage is even more important than physical courage. So many times we teach our young guys to be strong and be tough and on the football field physical courage is necessary but mental courage is even more important and that is what we try and teach them to be mentally courageous enough to not fight when someone in sites you.”

Today was the ninth day of the camp and Williams says he is excited to see the 400 kids who attend grow even more.
