A Rochester man tells us he’s a victim too – attacked by a suspect accused in a brazen carjacking in a popular neighborhood. News of the crime rattled some people living in the Park Avenue area.

Eighteen-year-old Trashawn Bell is facing several charges. He's accused in an attack on a woman on Brighton Street, just off of South Goodman Street, early Monday morning. Police are still looking for two other men in the case.

On Thursday, we spoke with a Rochester man who says the same person attacked him on Genesee Street.

The victim tells us what started with a question ended in a violent attack. He says he just parked his car when a man approached him and what happened next shook his sense of security.

Chris Hartley and his girlfriend don't feel the same walking around their neighborhood. He said, “We're thinking about moving to me honest.”

On Monday, investigators say Trashawn Bell approached Hartley when he was parking his car across the street. “First he asked if I had a phone and I said no and he said well clearly you have a phone and I have an emergency.”

But Hartley wouldn't hand over his cell so he says Bell followed him to his apartment, grabbed his backpack then punched him. “A decently hard one right in the neck. He was going for the face and everything and then just punched me and I staggered back. My keys flew out of my hand and he took them and ran.”

Hartley says Bell crashed the car and it hasn't been returned to him yet because police are keeping it as evidence. Meanwhile, they say they see the attack as a wake-up call. Hartley said, “Living here and having nothing go on and then have this be the thing to ruin it for me…I'll always think of that kinda thing.”
The suspect was in court Wednesday and today on charges of carjacking Chris Hartley and another woman. He's being held in the Monroe County Jail

No word from police at this time on the two other suspects.
