It has been one week since a Chili teenager went missing. Brittanee Drexel was last seen leaving a hotel where a group of her friends were staying.
For the second day, crews are searching a river and highway 30 miles south of Myrtle Beach. Police say a cell phone signal led them to that spot. Police say Drexel's phone was not in use when it gave off its last signal on Sunday. Helicopters, search dogs and a crew of about 50 people scoured the area.
Meanwhile in Rochester, Drexel’s friends are doing whatever they can to help. "It's been really hard for them to keep up with the costs of being down there and looking for her," said friend Katya Rosien.
The Gates Chili Soccer Team organized a car wash to raise money to help offset the cost. The community has been generous, donating thousands to help search for the 17-year-old. Drexel's friends are holding out hope the search will bring "Brit" home.
"I hope she's okay and I just miss her a lot," said Amanda Littere.
"It’s hard because it's just like one of our sisters are missing," said Rosien. "We really want her home."
Police in South Carolina say there are no new leads in this case.
