The Brittanee Drexel case was featured on a segment this weekend. "Not us, not our family," said Chad Drexel. "It's hard to put it in words. It's a feeling that I would never want any parent to feel." Brittanee disappeared six weeks ago on Spring Break. The 17-year-old was last seen leaving a hotel in Myrtle Beach. Surveillance video captured Brittanee walking down the main strip. However, police say she didn't get far. In fact, News 10NBC has learned police believe something happened to her within seven minutes of leaving that hotel. Police say there are several cameras further along the route she was walking, but Brittanee was never seen. Chad Drexel says he no longer believes his daughter ran away. "I just don’t see that happening. I just think there might have been foul play somewhere," said Drexel. Brittanee's mother, Dawn, was interviewed on "America’s Most Wanted." "As the time goes on, it's just getting more and more heart-breaking," Dawn said. She has been in South Carolina for over a month handing out flyers and knocking on doors. She has only taken short breaks to come home to see her other children. Although police have called off the search, Dawn Drexel says she will keep looking. "I’m not leaving here until I have my daughter." For more Rochester, N.Y. news go to our website www.whec.com. |
