Gates man dies in Steuben County ATV accident
A Gates man is dead after an ATV crash in Steuben County. State Police believe alcohol was involved.
Joseph Wellin, 49 was driving the ATV Friday night in Cohocton, just south of Naples.
Investigators say Wellin flipped the ATV while trying to make a sharp turn. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury. His passenger from Plattsburgh had minor injuries.
Police say speed and alcohol were involved.
