Frank Garcia's wife testifies against him

WHEC-TVIt is day four of testimony in the Monroe County trial of Frank Garcia. He's the Hamlin man charged with killing Randal Norman and Mary Silliman outside Lakeside Hospital in Brockport on Valentine’s Day.

Today the wife Garcia took the stand and testified. She said she was worried the morning Randal Norman and Mary Silliman were murdered.

Marjeann Garcia was so soft spoken it was hard for people in the courtroom to hear her. What they did hear is that her husband called her twice the morning of February 14 and because of those calls she was "worried about Frank."

Mrs. Garcia testified Sheriff's investigators arrived at her home later that morning. She said showed them where her husband hid his guns including the cupboard above the stove. She testified Garcia called her with the investigators there and she handed the phone to them. We still don't know what they said to each other.

On the stand, the prosecution asked about the guns.

Assistant District Attorney Doug Randall: Mrs. Garcia, does your husband own guns?
Marjeann Garcia: Yes.
Randall: What kind?
Garcia: Kel-tec and a Glock.

It was a Glock that Garcia had on him the morning he was arrested. Police say a Glock was used to kill Norman and Silliman.

After his wife, Garcia's brother-in-law Jonathan Hillengas testified that Garcia called him the morning of the 14th. and asked to me him.

ADA Randall: Can you describe his tone of voice?
Hillengas: Normal. Just normal. He told me to call him once I got on the Parkway (heading to Hamlin).
Randall: What happened then?
Hillengas: I told him I was on my way on Parkway and I told him I loved him and I didn't know what happened. If he did anythying we're hear for you. If you hurt yourself let us know.

Hillengas testified that Garcia came to visit him at his home.

Hillengas: He gave me a gun clip and a sweatshirt. It was green.
Randall: Did he say anything to you?
Hillengas: He told me to hold onto it. I was nervous.
Randall: Anything else?
Hillengas: He asked me if I was mad at him. I told him I loved him and he needed to go talk to invesgtigators.
Randall: What then?
Hillengas: I put the sweatshirt and the gun clip in a white garbage bag. (The clip) was wrapped up in the sweatshirt.
Randall: What did you do with it?
Hillengas: I put it in the garage.

Hillengas then testified that after he talked with his family he returned to get the clip and sweatshirt and then called police to tell them "I have some evidence I'd like to give to you."

Garcia is already serving a life sentence for the murders of two others, Kimberly and Christopher Glatz. They were found in their Canandaigua home on Valentine’s Day.

Garcia is accused of targeting the female victims because they filed sexual misconduct complaints against him that led to him being fired from two nursing jobs. The prosecution showed the jury the letter from Lakeside Hospital telling Garcia he was fired. It was dated February 13.

Earlier this week, Audra Dillon, Randal Norman’s girlfriend who was also shot outside the hospital, picked out Garcia as the killer.

A nurse at Lakeside testified she heard gunshots and saw what police say was Garcia’s car drive way.

We are still waiting for the video taped interrogation with the sheriff's investigator to be played in court and for testimony from Garcia’s wife and the daughter of Kimberly Glatz.
