STDs in 50 to 90 year olds on the rise

Researchers say doctors should discuss safe sex with their older patients as cases of sexually transmitted diseases have risen among seniors.
 
Recent statistics show STDs in 50 to 90 year olds has doubled over the past decade including HIV. Experts aren't sure why but speculate the increasing use of erectile dysfunction drugs may be responsible and that older women are physically more vulnerable to these diseases.
 
Researchers say sexually active adults need to be aware they are still at risk for potentially dangerous STDs and that doctors should discuss these risks with patients asking for erectile dysfunction drugs.
