Once again controversy surrounds the Super Bowl half time show. Instead of a wardrobe malfunction this year, it was a slip of a finger that is causing the commotion.

Singer MIA gave the middle finger to the camera during her song "Give Me All Your Luvin".

In a written statement, an NBC spokesperson said , “The NFL hired the talent and produced the half time show. Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers."

The NFL has also released a statement saying, “There was a failure in NBC's delay system. The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing and we apologize to our fans."
