Penn Yan man arrested for leaving the scene of a crash in Yates Co.

A Penn Yan man is facing charges after a one-car crash in Yates County.

Sheriff’s Deputies say they responded to the crash on State Route 54A near the intersection of Central Avenue Tuesday night but the driver was no where to be found.

The passenger in the vehicle, 26-year-old Robert Wood of Keuka Park, was found nearby and taken to Strong Hospital for treatment of back pain.

Several hours later, deputies were able to locate the driver, 25-year-old Aaron Walker, in the Village of Penn Yan. He was charged with second-degree assault, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and unreasonable speed.

Walker was arraigned and remanded to jail in lieu of bail.
