The Girl Scouts of Western New York is selling three of its camp properties in an effort to reduce costs and maximize resources.

The camps impacted are: Camp Pinewood in Dansville, Camp Oak Orchard in Medina and Camp Sky High in Orchard Park.

Board of Directors Chair Judith Maness said, “As with other properties, the decision to sell these camps was not made lightly. The considerations that went into reviewing the Council’s property portfolio focused on accessibility, capacity versus usage, and efficiency for Girl Scout members, volunteers and families. We understand the emotional toll this may have on some members. We will do everything we can to address this, yet at the heart of this decision is what’s best for meeting the needs of today’s girls while ensuring a strong future of Girl Scouting throughout our communities.”

Camp Piperwood in Perinton, Camp Timbercrest in Randolph, Camp Seven Hills in Holland and Camp Windy Meadows in Lockport will remain open this summer.
