Fairport Central School District Students at Johanna Perrin Middle School in Fairport were evacuated Wednesday afternoon because of a bomb threat, according to a phone message that went home to parents.

Fairport police were called and students were taken out of the school so a search could be conducted. The evacuation happened late in the school day, and students were sent home around the same time they would have normally been dismissed.

Students said they were not allowed back in the building Wednesday afternoon. They said some teachers were allowed back in to get car keys.

School district officials were still gathering details about the threat Wednesday night, and could not say if anything suspicious was found. However, a district spokesperson said school would be in session Thursday.
