Local thruway rest area closed temporarily

nullA local rest area on the Thruway is temporarily closed due to a fallen tree.

The rest area is at milepost 353 eastbound, between exit 46 (Rochester/Corning) and Exit 45 (Rochester/Victor).

Thruway officials say the emergency closure is a result of a 60-foot tree falling down due to high winds, creating a hazard in the area.

Officials expect the area to reopen sometime Wednesday, but did not give an exact time.
