Stamp Out hunger campaign

Letter carriers need your help to fill the shelves of area food cupboards.

They are working with the U.S. Postal Service and the United Way for our area's annual food drive commonly known as the "Stamp out Hunger" campaign.

Starting this Monday, you can leave food by your mailbox and your letter carrier will do the rest.

Ken Montgomery of the National Association of Letter Carriers said, “Items like cereal, peanut butter, pasta sauces, canned fruits & vegetables, essential toiletries, anything that won't break or spoil is a welcome donation.”

The National Association of Letter Carriers says June is the month that food pantries say they are most in need of help.

The food drive ends next Saturday, June 9.
