President Obama ended up writing an absence note to an 11-year-old student in Minnesota who missed school on Friday to go see his speech.
5th grader Tyler Sullivan went with his dad to the event and immediately following the president's speech Tyler had a chance to shake hands with President Obama.
Tyler says he and the president started talking and President Obama realized that Tyler had to skip school to be there.
That's when he reached for a presidential pad of paper and pen and wrote an official excused absence note.
Tyler says he's had autographs before, but this was "on a whole 'nother level".
