Rochester police are investigating a shooting on Chestnut Street Friday night. News10NBC heard the reports just after 10 p.m.

News10NBC was the first media outlet on scene. Witnesses say they heard two loud pops, which sounded like gun shots, followed by a few more.

Police say just before 10 p.m. Rural/Metro paramedics responded to a person shot on the 30th block. They also say they treated and transported a man in his 30's to Strong Memorial Hospital. News10NBC will update you on the man's condition as soon as possible.

Police officers came running from nearby to outside the Hotel Cadillac. When our cameras arrived there was a person lying on the ground with police surrounding them. That person was quickly taken to the hospital.

Police are questioning a few people who say they saw what happened, but officers aren't releasing many details.

News10NBC will keep you updated on the details of this incident as they become available.
