Canandaigua man threatens wife and children with sledgehammer

A Canandaigua man was arrested for threatening his wife and children with a sledgehammer – also smashing a radio.

According to Ontario County sheriffs, 41-year-old Ronald John Gable was arrested on Friday night for Menacing in the second degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police say Gable was intoxicated and got into a verbal fight with his wife and later used a sledgehammer to put her and the children into fear of harm.

They say Gable was taken to the Ontario County Jail without bail and will appear in court at a later date.
