People are gearing up for the 4th of July holiday and just in time, gas prices are falling. This weekend, last year, people were paying a quarter more per gallon for gas. Now the time is right to take a 4th of July Holiday.
According to AAA in the past month gas prices have fallen 27 cents per gallon in Rochester and prices are 25 cents cheaper than this time last year.
Experts say the drop in gas prices means more people will be driving to their getaway sports for the fourth of July and AAA says this year about 25% of holiday travelers are leaving now.
The owner of East Ave Auto says they were very busy Thursday with people filling up to head on their trips. He says the drop in gas prices is like nothing they’ve ever seen.
According to AAA, more than 42 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles from home for the holiday weekend.
