Are you looking to try a new sport? How about pickleball? It's not new but it's getting popular in the Rochester area.
Tuesday morning, six new pickleball courts opened at Ontario Beach Park next to the Robach Community Center.
Pickleball combines elements from tennis, badminton and ping pong and is played with a wiffle ball and paddles.
News10NBC is told these courts are the first of their kind in the state for this many, public, outdoor courts.
Wendy Cooper from Greece said, “We're very excited because most of the courts that we've been on have been on tennis courts. Now we have our own courts that we can come and play and we just heard they are going to be open every day so we're very excited."
The new courts will be open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk on a first come first serve basis.
