Deputies: Wayne County teen stole loaded handguns, bows & arrows

A Wayne County teen is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say he stole two loaded handguns.

Adom Whitt of Williamson is charged with burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of petit larceny.

Deputies say they received a 911 call alerting them to a possible break in at a home on Bennett Street. Deputies were able to locate a suspect, Adom Whitt, in a wooded area off of Main Street in Williamson.

Investigators say when they arrested Whitt, he was in possession of stolen property taken from a vehicle in the area. Deputies say Whitt admitted to breaking into two vehicles on Bennett Street and stealing two loaded handguns. According to deputies, Whitt also admitted to breaking into another home on Bennett Street and taking two bows and arrows.

Whitt was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
