Rochester Police are investigating a double shooting in broad daylight. One person has died and police are still looking for the shooter.

While Rochester Police were wrapping up a news conference talking about crime, the call came in for a shooting on the city’s northeast side. Two people were shot on Delamaine Drive off Portland Avenue around 1:20pm Friday.

Police say two people were standing outside together on Delamaine Drive when they were approached by someone. Both of them were shot. Police say the man who was killed was in his late teens, early 20’s. The other person shot was in his early teens and is currently in surgery at Strong Hospital.

Police believe there is only one shooter. They say there were a lot of people out when the shooting happened and they are talking to a number of witnesses.

A woman at the scene said she dates the victim’s cousin. She told News10NBC he was 19-years-old, a great kid as everyone called him “June Bug”.

Police have yet to identify the victims as they are still notifying the family.
