A Rochester man was arrested after a shooting Wednesday night.
Jason Brock, 33, of Rochester is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police were called to Nellis Park off Jefferson Avenue near School 19 around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived on scene, they found a 21-year-old man shot in the ribcage. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive. His name has not been released.
A short time after the shooting, Rochester Police and New York State Troopers surrounded a house on the same street. Several people came out of the house with their hand up, and others were brought out in handcuffs. Police say one of those people was Brock. Brock was arrested for the shooting.
