It's been two and a half years since a massive earthquake devastated Haiti, killing more than 200,000 people and leaving 300,000 more homeless.
Conditions have improved since then, but Haiti is still lacking many of the things we take for granted.
Wednesday, the Rochester Police Department did its part by donating equipment to Haitian police officers. Among the donations were things like utility belts, bullet proof vests and boots.
The Town of Greece also donated an ambulance.
"These donations will be saving lives, not just police officers' lives, but all the residents there in Haiti. It will work toward saving their lives," Darryl Porter, assitant to Mayor Richards, says.
Another problem facing Haiti police is severe understaffing. They only have about 6 police officers for every 60,000 people in the country.
