Saturday was filled with fun, and entertainment for the Rochester are with the Ten Ugly Men Festival. Event-goers had access to tons of music, food, and activities like volleyball and kickball. The event started small but now it has become one of the biggest celebrations in Rochester.
But the event is only about fun, but also about raising money for a good cause. For the past seven years, organizers have donated 40-50% of the event's proceeds to the Bright Eyes Fund, which supports local hospitals.
The festival added the charitable aspect to the festival after John Fitzsimmons lost his wife, Kimberly, to a cancerous tumor in 2003.
"The festival is something to look forward to," says Fitzsimmons. "People want to have fun and they know they are supporting a good cause."
