Better access and traffic flow in downtown Rochester. That's what's ahead after an investment secured by Senator Chuck Schumer and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter.
The $562,000 dollar fund will convert Saint Paul St. and North Clinton Ave. into two-way streets.
The project will make Downtown Rochester more pedestrian-friendly, enhance accessibility to nearby businesses and improve traffic flow to a new bus station.
Schumer visited the area in June to renew a push for the grant. The investment for Rochester comes on the heels on Schumer's fight to secure over $10-million for the new bus station construction, which is expected to be completed in 2014.
