URMC, Pluta Cancer Center start merger process

_The University of Rochester and Pluta Cancer Center have started a merger process.

The medical organizations announced Monday that they have signed a memorandum of understanding as the first step in the process that could lead to a merger between the two companies.

Officials from both organizations estimate that a formal agreement will take a number of months to finalize. The final agreement would be subject to regulatory approval.
