Bristol native Ryan Lochte advances to semifinal of 200 meter freestyle

Bristol native Ryan Lochte was back in the pool this morning in London, finishing second in his 200-meter freestyle heat.
Lochte gave the U.S. its first gold of the 2012 Olympics Saturday night when he won the 400-meter individual medley.Teammate Michael Phelps finished fourth and is still hunting his 17th career medal in Olympic competition.
Australia unleashed its big guns in the 4x100 freestyle relay heats and it paid off with the top time. The U.S. saved its best swimmers for the evening final. Jimmy Feigen, Matt Grevers, Ricky Berens and 2008 Olympic relay star Jason Lezak (LEE'-zak) qualified second.
Missy Franklin had the second-fastest time in the 100-meter backstroke preliminaries. The 17-year-old American picked up a bronze medal Saturday night as part of the 400-meter freestyle relay team.
