Organizers ramp up security for Park Ave. Fest

Park Avenue Festival organizers say they're increasing security in the neighborhood after hours as part of a crackdown on rowdy late-night parties.

Organizers say the situation has improved over the years, and they want to continue to keep disruptions to a minimum. That means more police will be on patrol in the area. They will also remind people of the 10 p.m. noise ordinance and will try to make sure parties stay on the property at which they're held. Organizers also say police will strictly enforce open container laws during the festival because it is an alcohol-free event. Festival-goers are asked to leave pets, bicycles and skateboards at home.

The Park Avenue Festival begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday and runs until 5 p.m. Sunday.
