nullCongresswoman Louise Slaughter sent a letter Thursday asking the creditors of HMX Group, the parent company of Hickey Freeman, to work with the company in order to help them keep 400 Rochester workers in their jobs. The congresswoman is hoping to get Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase to extend the credit of HMX Group so the company can continue to function.

Slaughter says the access to more credit is important to keep the company in business. But the banks have been reluctant to extend credit since the 2008 economic crisis. But Slaughter is hopeful her appeal will convince the banks to work with HMX Group.

Recently, Hickey Freeman has been in the news for their work with providing clothing for the NBC Olympic team. They also offered to make new Team U.S.A. uniforms for the opening ceremonies after the controversy regarding the uniform being made in China arose.
