Buffalo man pleaded guilty to robbing Irondequoit bank

A 31-year-old Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to five bank robberies including one in Irondequoit.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa Marangola said that between October and December 2007, Michael Makolinski robbed the Bank of America in Batavia, the Northwest Savings Bank in Erie, Pennsylvania, the Fairport Savings Bank in Irondequoit, the First Niagara Bank in Lewiston, N.Y., and the Evans National Bank in Buffalo.

Makolinski faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison, a $1,000,000 fine or both when sentenced on November 13.
