Brockport man charged with assault

A Brockport man is facing assault and other charges, after police say he attacked another man with a knife.

Brockport Police tell News10NBC officers were called to Lakeside Memorial Hospital around 5:15 Friday night, for a 52 year old man who had been assaulted with a knife.  Investigators say the assault happened at a location on West Avenue. Police say the victim was able to walk to the Lakeside Emergency Department with the help of a neighbor. 

Police identified the suspect as 47-year-old Stephen Daggett of Brockport. Officers located him just before 8 p.m. Friday. Police say Daggett was attempting to hide behind an address on Market Street when he was found.

Daggett is charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail on $10,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
