Nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital arrested for assault

A nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital has been arrested for assault. 

William Garafolo is charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment. Police say the charges stem from an incident that happened on July 23 in a home in the city of Rochester. 

Police say Garafolo wrapped a 17-year-old family member’s wrist and mouth in duct tape and then punched the victim’s face and body and also struck the victim with a belt, causing swelling, bruising and pain to the victim’s eye, torso and legs.

A spokesperson for Strong Memorial Hospital says Garafolo is currently on administrative leave.
