nullIt’s that time of year when parents and students—whether they like it or not—have to start thinking about going back to school. Sunday, a local salon is helping kids look their best on that first day.

Salon Lidori, on Long Pond Road in Greece, hosted a Cut-A-Thon offering free cuts to kids under 12 with a donation to the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. The Center helps victims of child abuse. Sunday’s event also featured raffles, prizes, and face painting.

“It’s really exciting,” says owner Jamie Polidori. “Also nerve racking because you know… you don’t know what the turn out is going to be. You don’t know what kind of things could happen so we’ve prepared. You know we’ve been planning for months now. Everybody was really excited. It feels good to give back to the community.”

The Cut-A-Thon ran from 11 a.m. Sunday morning to 4 p.m.
