A 15-year-old boy is dead after being shot multiple times. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Goodman Street and Short Street.

Rochester Police say they found the teen lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:04 a.m.

The boy’s mother, Michelle Clinkscales, sat down with News10NBC’s Janet Lomax Thursday morning.

She says her son, Max King, would have gone into the 10th grade this fall at Jefferson High School and that he loved to play football. Clinkscales said, “It’s sad that you would take somebody’s life. When you can’t give a life, you should take one. Turn yourself in or don't turn yourself in because the man upstairs, he got you.”

This crime prompted City Councilman Adam McFadden to post a message on social media saying, “Fifteen is too young to die! You barely know who you are at 15. You haven’t voted, driven a car, legally drank or legally worked a real job!”

There will be a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. at the intersection of North Goodman Street and Short Street.

No suspects are in custody at this time.
