While weather forecasters are continuing to keep an eye on Tropical Storm Isaac, many delegates are still making their way down to Tampa for the Republican Convention.
Maggie Brooks left the busy Rochester airport this morning. Brooks is running for congress against incumbent Democrat, Louise Slaughter.
She says despite the weather, the convention is going to be an energizing experience for the republican party.
Brooks spoke to News10NBC Sunday morning before the flight, saying, "It is going to be a great convention, weather aside, and I think everyone is energized to move forward to November with our platform of fiscal conservatism and rebuilding America, putting America back to work with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan."
Maggie Brooks has been a delegate at three other conventions.
News10NBC is Rochester's official election station. We will have live coverage from the convention, starting Monday, August 27.
