nullGolden girl Jen Suhr is back in the U.S. She won gold in the pole vault at the London Olympic Games.

Prior to the Olympics, Suhr said she would get so emotional thinking about the possibility of a gold medal that she would have to suppress those thoughts of winning. Well she no longer needs to suppress those thoughts because gold is reality.

Suhr won pole vault, clearing 15 feet 7 inches, beating Cuba’s Yarisley Silva in a tiebreaker. It was the Riga native’s first Olympic gold after she won silver at the Beijing games four years ago.

It gets even better. On Sunday, Suhr took home another gold at the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix in England. On Monday afternoon, Suhr’s celebration in America kicked off as she touched down at the Rochester International Airport.
