The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team has been literally the talk of the town in Rochester.
The U.S. Women’s Soccer Team took home the gold at Summer Olympic games after a rematch of last year’s World Cup matchup against Japan.
On Saturday, Pittsford’s Abby Wambach and her teammates will be together again at Sahlen’s Stadium to open a victory tour against Costa Rica.
Tobin Heath, Heather Mitts, Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd all arrived around 5:00p.m. on Thursday. All the players have to arrive because they have practice on Friday.
News10NBC caught up with Becky Sauerbrunn, a U.S. defender from St. Louis, Missouri and Alex Morgan, U.S. forward from California.
The soccer team is in town to play a sold out game against Costa Rica Saturday. This is the first time the gold medal team is playing together since the Olympics.
Eleven thousand tickets were sold in a two day presale and one thousand bleacher seats sold out in 30 minutes last Thursday. The game will be broadcasted live on News10NBC. Coverage begins at 2:00pm.
