There are only a few days left of summer vacation for the kids. To celebrate the end, there was a big party going on in the city of Rochester on Thursday...
The Charles Settlement House held its annual street dance in the Josana neighborhood. There was food, music and games and even a farmer's market. School supplies were given out to the kids at the event.
The street dance has been an end of summer event for children and families in the neighborhood for several years.
Scott Benjamin, the President of Charles Settlement House says, "The street dance or festival has been a tradition for many years. We revived it a few years ago because residents like to be able to have a nice, wholesome, fun thing to do."
The Charles Settlement House was established in 1917 to help immigrant families in Rochester. Now it provides a variety of services for residents on Rochester's North West side, such as after-school programs and a food pantry.
