Study to improve football helmets

Researchers at Virginia Tech are conducting a big study to help improve the protection of football helmets and it includes middle school players.

Researchers are putting sensors in the helmets and they hope the tests will help them design the safest helmet for students.

Right now, there are now universal helmet standards for high school and middle schools. Doctors say if you think an athlete might have suffered a concussion, don't assess the injury yourself and go to a healthcare professional.
