U of R’s Upward Bound program receives $260,000 federal grant

The University of Rochester’s Upward Bound math and science program is the recipient of $262,500 from the Department of Education. Senator Charles Schumer made the announcement Friday.

This program helps high school students from low-income families recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and to encourages them to purse careers in math and science.

As of this year, this program has a 97-percent graduation rate.
