A local delegate is in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Democratic National Convention.
Ken Preston left Rochester early Monday morning. He told us he isn’t worried about the residual momentum left over from the Republican National Convention which took place last week in Florida. He says he is ready to get to work for the democrats.
Preston said, “The main focus of the convention is to rally the base and to everybody inside it, grassroots people like myself, elected officials. So, it'll be the same thing, it'll just energize us and give us a focus when we return back to our communities after the convention.”
Preston says this year’s convention will be different from the one in 2008 because President Obama has a record he must run on. Preston says he has been looking forward to this week for quite a while now. Members of the group, “Rochester for Obama” will also be at the convention.
